Since its independence in 2011, South Sudan has been one of the most fragile countries in the world. It struggles with a number of interrelated trauma that includes, civil war, ethnic tensions, food insecurity and severe poverty, rampant disease and a lack of infrastructure. Over 2 million South Sudanese have fled the country as refugees while another 2 million are internally displaced. The Good Shepherd Educational Foundation (GSEF) is fostering hope, unity, and peace through its work.
In addition to providing food and education to children in South Sudan, Good Shepherd has a leadership development program for emerging local leaders. More than 1000 church and community leaders have undergone training on various courses including theological, leadership development, peace building and reconciliation, thanks to the vision of Anglican priest, Reverend John Chol Daau.
O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a house for your holy name comes from your hand and is all your own.
